چکیده

The aim of this study was to determine the effects high CO2 with constant O2 level on postharvest quality fig cv. Bursa Siyahi. For purpose, atmospheric compositions 3% + 10% (PA-1), 15% (PA-2), 20% (PA-3), and 21% 0.03% (RA) were tested under a palliflex controlled atmosphere (PA) storage system at 0°C for 28 days. At end storage, weight loss increased during period, but increase slowed down in all PAs compared RA. PA-1 PA-2 delayed softening while PA-3 accelerated process. There no side fruits stored taste. lowest total microorganism decay rates found PA-3. had higher sugar organic acid contents figs Respiration rate decreased Ethylene productions senescence atmospheres, inhibited increase. Consequently, (PA-2) can be used maintain Siyahi fresh days 0 °C.

Effect of postharvest oxalic acid treatment on ethylene production, quality parameters, and antioxidant potential of peach fruit during cold storage.

The effects of postharvest oxalic acid (OA) treatment on ethylene production, fruit quality, bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity of peach fruit, were examined. Fruits were treated with oxalic acid immediately after harvest and stored at 1° C and 90% relative humidity for 28 days. The oxalic acid treated peach fruit exhibited significantly lower levels of ethylene production, pH, total ...

Application of Cold Plasma Technology in Quality Preservation of Fresh Fig Fruit (Siyah): A Feasibility Study

Fig (Ficus carica L.) is a perishable fruit and it needs to use new techniques in order to increase shelf life of this product. In present study, atmospheric cold plasma as a non-thermal treatment was utilized for preserving fresh fig quality. Dielectric barrier discharge plasma was applied to fruits in two steps. Durations of first treatments were 1 and 5 minutes. Based on this step results, m...

Quality improvement and shelf life extension of fresh apricot fruit (Prunus Armeniaca cv. Shahroudi) using postharvest chemical treatments and packaging during cold storage

The main objective of this work was to assess the effectiveness of salicylic acid (SA), calcium chloride (CaCl2) or sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3), and packaging on some qualitative properties of apricot fruit during cold storage. The experiments were conducted using a completely randomized design as factorial, with three replicates. Fruits were dipped in SA (0.1 or 0.5 mM), CaCl2 (1 or 2%) or NaH...

Ascorbic acid concentration in Cv. conference pears during fruit development and postharvest storage.

L-ascorbic acid (L-AA) concentration changes during the development of cv. Conference pears and the influence of postharvest handlings (gas condition, cooling rate, cooling duration) on L-AA breakdown were studied. L-AA concentration fluctuates in young fruits, remains stable during fruit maturation, and starts to decline 1 week before commercial harvest. The most rapid decrease in L-AA concent...
